About the memorial: Two sculptured figures mounted on pillar with 3-stepped base. Sculptured soldier in Boer War campaign dress with rifle, standing guard over a wounded bugler boy lying on ground. Sculptures set atop narrowing pillar of pink granite with bronze laurel wreath detail afixed to each side. Borough coat of arms mounted on pillar below wreath on 6 o'clock face. Inscriptions and names gilded onto pillar pedastal with colonette framing in grey granite. Base flanked by 2 9-pound field guns and surrounded by iron chain fence. Originally in Victoria Park, moved in 1930s to make room for Swansea Guildhall

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
