About the memorial: An unvoided Celtic Cross on a single stepped base, 7 feet high and on a tapered plinth set on single step base 29 inches square. At the centre of the cross, on the east face, is a wreath surrounding RIP. By the roadside in front of the parish church.. Unveiled on 3 April 1921 by Lt-Gen.Sir Charles Briggs KCB, KCMG and dedicated by Rev.Canon Vatcher of Clare, assisted by the Rector Rev A.F.Webling. Recorded in the Suffolk and Essex Free Press on 13th April 1921. It was re-dedicated on 5 November 1950 by Archdeacon of Sudbury
