About the memorial: Standing in the triangle of the road junction.A helmeted soldier, resting on arms reversed, atop a pedimented rectangular plinth, with the words FOR VALOUR and PRO PATRIA in embossed letters at the top, on opposite sides. The main body of the plinth, on all four sides, bears the names of a total oof 128 men who died in WW1, whilst, around the base, on three sides, are the names of 40 men and 2 women, who died in WW2. The general commemoration is incised in red letters, whilst the names are incised in black letters. Those for WW1 are listed alphabetically, giving rank, initials and surname, and unit where the same name is duplicated. The names for WW2 are listed alphabetically, save for the two women who are listed first, giving initials and surname, with no rank. The memorial was unveiled on 23rd January 1921 by Major-General S.W.Hare, K.C.M.G., C.B.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
