About the memorial: The memorial stands alongside the Bridge of Earn Public Hall and Institute in Station Road. Its condition is not good but War Memorials Trust has been notified of this and have other photographs showing problems with the condition. Cross of Dumfries sandstone- "a facsimile of the well known St. Martin's Cross at Iona. It stands on a graceful die, which is approached by two broad steps. On the shaft of the cross is the inscription in raised bronze letters." On the back of the base is engraved the quotation from the Book of Ecclesiastics:- "And their glory shall not be blotted out. Their bodies are buried in peace. But their names liveth for ever more". The names are on a bronze plaque on the 6 o'clock face of the plinth [die] for WW1 and on a bronze plaque on the 12 o'clock face of the plinth for WW2. The whole is in an area surrounded by low kerbstones, although the contemporary image shows this was a later addition.
