About the memorial: This memorial board was removed from the now redundant Church of St. Mary on Bury Road in Thetford. It was repositioned in the Royal British legion Club in the Market Place.A carved triptych surmounted by a cross above three carved Gothid arch window frames, supported on two slender wood columns. Carved with the names of 31 men of the parish who gave their lives during WW1, and the dates 1914 1919. Beneath the memorial, in a glazed frame is an original programme for the unveiling of the war memorial on Thetford Market Place on 4 December, 1921, including a Roll of Honour.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
