About the memorial: Just inside the entrance gate to Fornham St. Martin Parish Church. A granite Celtic cross upon a granite plinth and single step square base. The front face bears the general inscription and the names of 15 men who gave their lives in WW1. The names are listed in random order, giving rank, initials and surname. The Bury Free Press 9th April 1921 carried a report, the memorial being unveiled by Lt.Col. LONG O.B.E. on 3rd April 1921 The builders were F.H.Goddard of Bury St.Edmunds
