About the memorial: Great Harwood has a war memorial park. Within the grounds is an obelisk which carries an inscription and names of the fallen. The lettering varies with some elements raised whilst others are lead lettering. Memorial park that was given in 1921 to the people of this village by local landowners to use it and enjoy it freely, as a gesture of commemoration of the First World War. An associated plaque set in stone was created by the Council is located on the junction of two paths near the park entrance on the corner of Hindle Fold Lane and Church Lane.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
