About the memorial: Standing in the centre of a grass triangle at the junction of Chapel Road with Chapel Lane.A slender stone obelisk upon three tiered plinths. The front (north) face bears the general commemoration for WW1 and beneath it that for WW2, and beneath that the names of 9 men who fell in WW2, listed alphabetically (except for the last, added below on the base), giving ranks, first names, surnames and units. The remaining three sides, on the upper two plinths, bear the names of 35 men who fell in WW1, again arranged alphabetically, listing ranks, first names, surnames, decorations where applicable, and units. The whole is mounted upon a broad square base, surrounded by shingle, within a concrete curb surmounted by bollards linked by chain. (Note: Private Abram Clarke lies buried in the adjoining churchyard, and Private William J. Frost is commemorated on a family gravestone). Made by Messrs H G Neville & Son, unveiled on 8th May 1919 by Lieutenant Francis Jaggard MC and reported in the Bury and Norwich Post 16 May 1919.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
