About the memorial: Standing on the corner of the road, adjacent to the Church of St. Laurence and St. Peter.A stone wheel cross, depicting a sword, hilt uppermost, in relief. This stands upon a rough granite plinth, the front face with an inset panel commemorating the names of 8 men of the parish who died in WW1, listing their full names, but no details of rank or unit, etc. Around 8 feet high overall, it stands within a square of granite chippings surrounded by stone bollards, linked by chain, with an access gap at the front. Unveiled on 29th May 1920 by Lt. Col W.E. Guinness DSO MP and reported in the Bury and Norwich Post on 5th June 1920
