About the memorial: Situated on a hillside above the A836 this imposing granite memorial is reached by a flight of steps. The memorial has an unusual design, in that it has a round “broken” column on a square plinth on a three stepped square base. Stone carvings depict the regimental badges of the 5th Seaforths (Cat) front and rear, Seaforths (Stag’s head) and Camerons (St Andrews). There are inscriptions of 54 or 55 names for WW1 and 10 or 11 names for WW2, listed by rank, regiment and forname. Rededicated 30th September 2022.
