About the memorial: Situated in Barnsley Road, St. James the Great Church is in close proximity to the local Infant and Junior School on the outskirts of the village. Description – The large stone cross standing in the grassed area in front of the main entrance to the Church remembers the men who fell in two World Wars. There is also a Memorial plaque inside the Church listing these soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their Country.
