About the memorial: Large wooden panel across West wall of Church on South side, including a Book of Remembrance. Panel has individual sections referring to different campaigns the Battalion has been involved in. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- City of London West Walk: St Sepulchre without Newgate (Grade I listed) is the largest church in the City of London and known as The National Musicians Church. It was built in the 15th century, was badly damaged in the Fire of London and rebuilt by Wren. Its tower holds the “12 Bells of Old Bailey” from the nursery rhyme “Oranges & Lemons”. This church is also the Royal Fusiliers Church and along one side of the aisle are flags or Colours of various Fusilier and City of London Regiments and it includes the regimental chapel. There are 15 or so war memorials in the church. A Garden of Remembrance to the Royal Fusiliers sits next to the church which also has a tablet related to the Korean War. Wooden Panels in the chapel wall remember the 6th London Regiment, formed in 1860, and known as the “Printer’s Battalion” due to its location near the printing industry at that time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Route:
