Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

The Inscription including a Regimental badge with title reads as follows:- F. Company 2nd V. B. Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment Holmfirth This tablet was erected by public subscription to show the appreciation of the self-sacrifice and bravery in the field of under-mentioned non-commissioned officers and men of F (Holmfirth) Co. who in response to their country’s call volunteered and served in the South African War 1900 – 1901. Transeat in Exemplum R. R. Mellor Captain Commanding F. Co. September 1901 Plaque No 2 1914 – 1919 World War 1 A brass plaque, mounted on a carved wooden frame with Regimental badge and title Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and is situated again in the entrance lobby within the Civic Hall. The inscription reads as follows:- 5th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment Holmfirth Company In glorious and grateful memory of the Officers, non-commissioned Officers and Men from this district who died in the service of their King and Country Great War 1914 – 1919
