About the memorial: Situated in Mean Lane in close proximity to the local supermarket and village centre Description – a light metal Memorial plaque with black lettering in a wooden frame detailing those who made the ultimate sacrifice in World War 1. There is also an unmarked War Grave at the top end on the Church yard in Row ‘A5’ which the Church is hoping the War Graves Commission will provide a white stone headstone in memory of Jack Kenworthy. Jack Kenworthy died on an open boat which was returning from Dunkirk and buried in Meltham Baptist Church yard on the 8th June 1940 Age 20.
