About the memorial: The memorial looks like a wall and is 2 m high, 46 cm deep and 1.58 m wide. It is built of yellow brick on a red brick base with black bricks along the top. The top corners of the wall are sloped and edged in red brick. It has a slate roof supported by a wooden frame. It has four plaques on the wall. The big centre plaque is recessed slate and the three smaller plaques are brass mounted on wood. There is white gravel around the base of the memorial. The memorial is surrounded by paving slabs and there is a concrete path from the road to the memorial. The war memorial was unveiled on 11th September 1994 by Air Vice Marshal N.E. Hoad, CVO, CBE, AFC.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
