About the memorial: Marble plaque dedicated to those from Barnsley who lost their lives during the Second Boer War. Dark stone tablet with ornate border and regimental crest above. All surrounded by white plaster (?) in the form of two draped banners, drum, rifle, and solar topee on a shelf supported by two brackets. Commemorates particularly 14 men from Barnsley who fell in the South African War 1899-1902, and also ALL men from the York and Lancaster Regiment who gave their lives in that same conflict.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
