About the memorial: Since c1974, the roadside stone memorial is located to the west of St. John the Baptist Church, Church Walk, off High St. Two stepped base surmounted by a lower square plinth and further tapered plinth above. Rectangular tapering column topped with a plain wheel cross. WW2 inscription details on additional angled slabs fixed to base steps.
