About the memorial: A central rock with dedicatory plaque in company with 3 other rocks with individual dedications to specific people and situations (crashes in nearby hills). In the Boer War/WW2 Memorial garden- WMO/130159. METEOR NF11 WD778 (1954) crashed at Dufton Fell. BLACKBURN BOTHA L6416 crashed at Stainmore.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Plaque 1- Aviation Memorial Garden/Opened in July 1996 by Lord Barnard/Since the first recorded accident in 1916, 47 aircraft of the/Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force have been lost in flying/accidents in Teesdale and the Western Pennines./This garden is dedicated to the 86 aircrew of the aircraft/involved.
