About the memorial: The Roman Catholic Church of St Thomas was opened in 1877, adding onto the earlier buildings of the Old Goole Catholic School and Presbytery. In the Goole Times edition dated 17/10/1919 it was announced that the Church would erect a memorial in the form of two stained glass windows. The two windows were placed in the sanctuary of the Church. The window to the left depicts a Cross and the window to the right an anchor. No names are recorded on the windows. The Church was made redundant in the late 1990s and is now in private ownership. It is believe the windows are still intact and in situ.
