About the memorial: This Memorial is dedicated to those who served at RAF Spilsby in WW2 , four stones set out in the morse code fot V for Victory ( Dot Dot Dot Dash ) also set as for Beethovens musical tune, all surmounted on a large base of the same material and surrounded by pebbles contained by a wooden border. The memorial site is separated off from the road by four black bollards. It is built on the base of the original crash tender shed and it supersedes the previous memorial dedicated in 2001 (ref 99938). Inscriptions and badges are all incised. Adjacent to the memorial is an information board describing the history of the base and memorial.
