About the memorial: Follow track past golf club to right hand bend towards water treatment works. Take left turn there and memorial is near that junction. Wren Canning worked at Admiralty House, Inveraray during WW2. Her body was found near this location, she had been shot but the killer was never found. Plaque fixed to a boulder near where her body was found. Also an inscription on a loose rough flat rock against the boulder. Note that she is commemorated by the CWGC.
