About the memorial: Originally sited in St Mary's Church, Savile Town. A brass plaque in a wood frame commemorates the men of Savile Town who died in the First World War. The inscription indicates that the side screen in the chancel of St Mary's Church was also part of the memorial, but it is unclear if this was relocated with the plaque. Beneath this plaque is a small black plaque dedicated to the men and women of Savile Town who died in the Second World War. This plaque indicates that it was originally located beneath a memorial window.
