About the memorial: Originally in Cobbinshaw United Free Church then in Tarbrax Parish Church. The reason for presuming that it might be in the Village Hall is that when the church closed in 2013 War Memorials Trust paid a grant towards moving the Tarbrax Village Tablet from the church to the foyer of the hall. (See WMO/155654). It is possible that this Roll of Honour moved there as well, at least temporarily. The Roll of Honour is based on the famous "Scrap of Paper" - the 1839 Treaty of London which the Germans broke in 1914 and was described as such by the German Chancellor, Bethmann-Hollweg. It is a printed roll of honour with names hand written. Roll has a decorative border of oak leaves. The shields of Canada, Ireland, Wales, and India are illustrated in the left hand border and the shields of Australia, Scotland, New Zealand and Africa are illustrated in the right hand border. The lower border has shields, cannons and drums, while the upper border has two warships. The centre is a reproduction of the 1831 Treaty guaranteeing Belgium neutrality. Names are in two outer columns. Other sources say it may have gone to the Scottish National Archives
