About the memorial: Brass plaque. The IWM Register report from November 2019 calls it Sunnyhill Mission Church, with a photograph supplied by Tom Donaldson. However, in the Scottish War Memorials Project discussion thread on the memorials in the Old Parish Church, Tom Donaldson stated in August 2015 that it was from Berryhill Mission Church which was attached to the Old Parish Church. The mission was, he said, "across Glasgow Road from the King George V Park and was latterly used as a canteen for Morton Machine Company. When the building closed this and other memorials were transferred to Wishaw Old Parish Church." This is confirmed by other online references - see Pressreader link. Those who returned from service formed the Heather Club and constructed an external memorial at the church. This now stands at the entrance of the King George V Playing Field. (See WMO/290086)
