About the memorial: Rectangular bronze plaque in a marble frame. Inscription in relief. Badge of the North Eastern Railway at top of the plaque. Bas relief ribbon with medallion at the centre depicting St George and the Dragon is depicted at the top centre of the plaque above the inscription. Note that this memorial was previously on WMO, and was checked on 8 May 2022. By the time this update was made on 12 May 2022 that record had vanished, so it has had to be re-entered. It was originally in the porchway at the Accountants Freight Office, Forth Banks, Newcastle, and is now in the vestibule at the top of the stairs at the top of the nursery. That nursery was previously known as Buffa Bears Nursery and is a conversion from the British Transport Police Office.
