About the memorial: A framed and glazed roll of honour. The roll has a decorative coloured border in black, blues and gold and a main design in the style of a pointed arch window containing a gold cross at the head and with small scenes in roundels on the spandrels. The inscription is in black and gold gothic lettering and names are hand-written in four columns, possibly in red ink originally, but now faded to brown. The artist's name is in the bottom margin and the frame is of oak moulding. It was originally in Doe Lea Mission Church which closed around 1972 (and was later demolished), then was next to be found in St Andrew's Church Centre, Glapwell, which opened in 1978 and is now closed, when the memorial was moved to it's current location
