About the memorial: A bound book of remembrance contained in a display case. The book is composed of high quality paper pages between card covers bound in tan coloured buckram with gilded lettering. The dedication page contains a shield of St Edmund in red and gold at the head and the text in red and black calligraphy with the initial letter gilded and illuminated, and a gilded cross at the foot. Each opening has a gilded wreath on the left leaf and details of an individual casualty in red and black calligraphy, most entries being accompanied by a mounted photograph. The display case is an oaken prayer desk with the upper surface modified to form a lockable cabinet with hinged and lockable glazed cover. The '20th century wars' casualty died on active service in Burma in 1950. The Book includes 1 man from each of WW1 and WW2 who died a peacetime death many years later of reasons unconnected with their war service.
