About the memorial: A white marble sculpture on a stone pedestal, accompanied by a brass plaque. The sculpture depicts a winged guardian angel protecting a young child from evil represented by a serpent. The two figures are wearing robes incorporating elaborate linen folds, and the wings are intricately carved. The sculpture is mounted on a circular column of reconstructed grey granite with moulded plinth and cap. Behind the statue is a wall-mounted plaque in the style of a shield and said to have been formed from shell cases. It has a raised margin, a raised ribbon at the head bearing an inscription in capital lettering, and names in sentence-case raised lettering arranged in two columns. The plaque is mounted on an oaken backboard, also shield-shaped and with an inscription at the head in raised upright capital lettering. The memorial is inside the Church, in the baptistry at the west end of the nave.
