About the memorial: An addition to the lettering on a sandstone headstone on a family grave. The headstone has a flat top with stepped shoulders and bears the incised inscription in upright capital roman letters coloured black. The headstone is accompanied by plain oblong sandstone kerbs with further similar inscriptions on the upper faces. CWGC state that his mother lived in Buxworth (known as Bugsworth until 1930) but he does not appear to be commemorated there.
