About the memorial: An oblong stainless steel plaque on a sandstone backboard. The plaque has a border of punched circles and an incised inscription in thin upright capital block lettering. The memorial lies amongst wreckage of RAF Sabres XD707 and XD730. The pin location is deliberately approximate as it is not the intention of this report to encourage visitors to this remote location. If doing so please take local advice and go suitably equipped for all conditions and for the terrain. The incident may have happened in peacetime but they were on active training for war conditions. For an adjacent specific memorial to Flying Officer Horne see WMO/291234.
