About the memorial: An addition to the lettering on a headstone on a family grave. The low black granite headstone has a polished face in the style of a scroll unfurled over a roughly-dressed wall. The headstone surmounts an oblong roughly-dressed black granite two-stepped base with bevelled top, also with a polished panel on the face of the upper step. It is accompanied by oblong roughly-dressed black granite kerbs. The 6 o'clock faces of the headstone and base bear incised inscriptions mainly in upright capital roman lettering. It is about 10 metres west of the northwest corner of the old chapels at the centre of the cemetery.
