About the memorial: A church bell accompanied by a brass plaque on a wooden backboard. The bell is a treble tuned to F. The horizontal oblong lacquered brass plaque has an inscription incised in upright capital roman lettering coloured white. The moulded frame is made of stained oak. Although the last bell in the peal of 6 bells it now occupies number 1 position in the frame. The church is on the north side of the road in the centre of the village. The bell is in the tower and the plaque is inside the church, on the tower wall at the west end of the nave. Although the plaque gives his surname as Neal, CWGC use Neale. He was both born and married using the surname of Neale.
