About the memorial: A two-light stained glass window. The two lancet lights and a small central pane, are set within the Y-tracery of a gothic opening and contain glass in reds, golds and blue. Each light has a border of alternating flowers and foliage, a ribbon at the head bearing a text, a principal figure, and the inscription on a band across the foot. The left figure is of a bearded saint wearing robes of white and gold, holding a book with a text from Luke 24:53, and with a winged calf at his feet. This may allude to St Luke who is sometimes represented as an ox, which is a symbol of sacrifice. The right light has a depiction of a young saint in red and white and gold robes, reading from a book and with an eagle at his feet. This may represent St John the Evangelist with the Book of Revelations. The texts and inscription are in upright sentence-case gothic lettering. The memorial is in the north wall of the Meynell Chapel, which is at the east end of the north aisle. The Godfrey Meynell mentioned here is NOT the same man as whom there is a memorial for in this Church (Godfrey Meynell VC- WMO/293592.
