About the memorial: An addition to a black granite headstone on a family grave. The headstone has a decorative top with an incised inscription in mixed styles of lettering. The headstone is accompanied by oblong black granite kerbs bearing the maker's name incised at the foot. Note that he actually died on 23 April 1917, not in June as stated on the gravestone.
