About the memorial: A white marble tablet on a black slate backboard. The tablet has a triangular arch pediment containing a spray of foliage in relief. Below it is a moulded cornice above the plain oblong tablet bearing the inscription incised in upright capital roman lettering coloured black. Below the tablet is a narrow moulding and an inverted pediment with rounded arch lower edge with projecting stepped shoulders. The backboard has a triangular arch top and two small brackets at the foot.
