About the memorial: Lt Col Cameron was wounded at Waterloo but died of natural causes in his old age. The son's cause of death is not specified. Both are buried in the church. Whether either can be properly seen as a war memorial is doubtful. The memorial is on the north wall of the chancel.

Sacred to the memory of Lieutenant Colonel William Gordon Cameron KH late of the Grenadier Guards in which regiment he served his country with honour and distinction. He was severely wounded in the Peninsula and at Waterloo where he lost his right arm. He departed tis life on the 26th May 1856 aged 66 leaving a widow and ten children to honour his memory. This monument is erected by his eldest son also to the memory of George Gervis, his 4th son, Lieut in the Coldstream Guards and late Page of Honour to the Queen. He died on the 20th September 1859 aged 19 years. Their mortal rmains rest in the vault beneath.
