About the memorial: A stone tablet with corniced cap and sill with decorated swirl side supports and two corbels linked by a semi circular part with leaf design. On top is an elaborate carving of double set of crossed, furled flags with cannons and other war related objects together with a sword with crown at its top centre, on South Wall of Chancel. He died a natural death at age 66, but this tablet recites his military career so probably qualifies as a memorial.
