Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.
If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.
The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

1) THE BOURNEMOUTH MEMORIAL HOMES/ THESE HOMES WERE PROVIDED FOR THE BENEFIT OF BOURNEMOUTH/ DISABLED EX-SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN BY THE VOLUNTARY GIFTS/ SUBSCRIBED IN HONOURED MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF/ BOURNEMOUTH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE 1939-1945 WAR, AND THE FOLLOWING PRESENTED £1,000 OR MORE TOWARDS THE COST OF THE HOMES:- (NAMES) 2) TO THOSE WHO SERVED/ IN THE CAUSE OF/ FREEDOM 3) FOUNDATION STONE: THIS STONE WAS LAID BY/ ADMIRAL THE VISCOUNT / MOUNTBATTEN OF BURMA/ GCVO ,KCB, DSO, ADC, LL.D, DCL/ ON OCTOBER 28TH 1946/ THE LAND FOR THESE WAR MEMORIAL/ HOMES WAS THE GENEROUS GIFT OF/ THE MISSES COOPER-DEAN/ROBERT H. OLD. MAYOR 4)THESE HOMES WERE EXTENSIVELY MODERNISED DURING 1983-8 AT A COST OF OVER £800,000 WHICH SUM WAS RAISED BY/ WAY OF A GENERAL APPEAL.THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE WISHES TO RECORD ITS APPRECIATION OF THE STIRLING (SIC)/ EFFORTS IN RAISING THIS MONEY OF FRANK WOODSFORD, THE HONORARY APPEALS ORGANISER, WHO HAS BEEN/ ASSOCIATED WITH THE HOMES SINCE THEIR OPENING IN 1948./ THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE EXPRESS GRATEFUL THANKS TO MORE THAN A 1000 DONORS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE APPEAL/ & ESPECIALLY TO THE FOLLOWING WHO CONTRIBUTED £1000 OR MORE./ (NAMES)/ BOURNEMOUTH WAR MEMORIAL HOMES CHAIRMAN CLLR.
