About the memorial: On National Trust Property at OS grid reference TQ 468518: This is one of nine memorials, but the only one in Kent, to Norman and Laurance Robertson, who were killed in the First World War. Their eldest brother, Mr W A Robertson, gave money to the National Trust to purchase property 'within reasonably easy reach of London' as a memorial to his brothers. There are four similar memorials to the Robertson brothers in Surrey, and one in East Sussex.
