About the memorial: The whole of the wooded garden is the memorial, as ;laid out by ex-servicemen in 1922-3. A rectangular stone block is set in an elevated position in gardens and accessed by steps. The photo of the opening ceremony in the historical link shows that this is a replacement, dating from before 2003, for the original stone. Two faces of the block have metal plaques with inscriptions painted in white letters. These are clearly replacements for the worn-out ones shown in the 2003 photos. The memorial stone is surrounded by paving. The pin is placed where the stone of remembrance is.
