Comments:
Although the Memorial is stable it is clearly in need of some work and restoration. The stonework is decaying in parts, needing some repointing, and the brass is very discoloured. It is the main Memorial for this sizeable town. The Memorial has been assessed and a report produced. It is currently under consideration for grant funding for the restoration work, from the War Memorials Trust. The grant application has been made by the Town Council (via the TIC) and the outcome is awaited.
