Unfortunately the calvary war memorial was vandalised in July 2022, with illegible words daubed in red paint on the lower timber of the crucifix. A condition report was therefore completed by the church's conservation accredited architect, which has identified additional issues with significant deterioration of the gilding, stonework, ironwork, woodwork, and surrounding brickwork. This report formed the basis of a grant application to the WMT for restoration works. Submitted October 31st.
