The site is situated on the edge of the town centre. The current proposed works are: *Carefully clean down traffic deposits & algae to memorial, walling & paving, with non abrasive proprietary stone cleaning system. *Carefully rake out & re-point walling & remove & re-bed coping stones, with matching lime mortar. *Carefully take up & re-lay loose pavings with lime mortar bed & joints. *Remove rotten plywood door to electric supply cupboard, serving Memorial & light standards & replace with vertical boarded solid door, paint finish. *Sand down, spot prime & redecorate metal railings & light standards with oil-based paint. An enquiry has been made to the War Memorials Trust in respect of support for this work. Contents updated April 2018
