The Rothley War Memorial had developed cracks in the mortar and moss growing in the joints allowing seedlings to grow. I look after this War Memorial and surrounding area and applied to Rothley Parish Council to have it cleaned and repaired. The cost was met from the Harry Hames Cottage Charity and the work carried out in February/March 2017. The lettering has been re-gilded and the slate cleaned as well as the joints sealed and the whole structure cleaned. It now looks lovely and I feel so pleased that I got this work done.
