In my opinion the highest standards should be set for all War memorials in that they should be well maintained, cleaned, restored and be in immaculate condition. This is the least we can do for those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The memorial looks dirty and tired and this isn’t acceptable. As a side note this memorial should be moved to the market ground in Top Mossley whereby everyone driving or walking the main transit route through Mossley will see the memorial and it will be at the forefront of our minds. The current location is hidden away next to somebody’s private dwelling which used to be Mossley Town Hall.
