The overall memorial is in a state of poor condition and one of only a few classed as such in the London Borough of Hounslow. The Portland stone statue of the soldier is in fair condition for its age and all of the key features are visible and relatively sharp, however the overall statue is dirty and requires cleaning and lichen removed. The base front panels are in relatively good condition, unfortunately all other panel sides are showing signs of weathering and staining to the stone making the lettering difficult to read The carved panels above are in poor condition and possibly beyond restoration. The steps leading up to the memorial are sound but need cleaning and the mortar replacing. The same applies to the paving around the base of the memorial and the base itself. Invasive plants including self seeded trees have taken hold and may lead to potential destabilisation of the monument.
