Following discussion with the wider Conservation Team, WMT has updated the condition of this war memorial from poor to fair. Whilst we recognise that there are issues with the condition of the stonework which compromise the legibility of the inscriptions, the nature of these issues means that it is not desirable to address them at this time. In addition, the photographs on this record show that the condition has not worsened significantly since our last assessment and the memorial’s condition is considered stable. It may be the case that in the future further consolidation or more intervention work will be required.
