In 2017 War Memorials Trust offered a grant of £3,450 towards the undertaking of conservation works. The base of the memorial and rear wall were cleaned using the DOFF steam cleaning system. The shaft and cross of the memorial and been lost in a storm c.1990 and so using archival evidence these elements of the memorial were reinstated in Portland stone, returning the memorial to its original design.
