In 2016 War Memorials Trust awarded a grant of £2,100 towards the undertaking of conservation works to clean the memorial using a DOFF steam cleaning. In addition, loose and failing mortar was raked-out from the memorials construction joints which were then repointed using a lime mortar. Lead lettering which had been damaged was repaired, and repairs were carried out to the coping of the surrounding wall. The works were completed in time for Remembrance Day in 2016.
