The memorial is generally in fair condition, but the inscription in relief on the upper cross and front face of the column is in poor condition. The name panels on the square base vary in condition from good to fair. By its position on the seafront, right next to the beach, it is susceptable to weathering from the action of the sea. Visited on 15 October, 2017.
